I have this camera, Sony Handycam, since 2012.
I got it during my first participation in a film workshop, which was in Beirut.
Since then, this camera traveled with me through several cities, and together we went through all kinds of memories and experiences, sweet and bitter.
It helped me start my journey of self-discovery, and the search for a visual language in which I could express my feelings and thoughts.

Ala Al Tawakul (Reliance) filmed between 2012 and 2013, it is a film about Abdulellah, a former policeman in Syria. As with so many Syrians Abdulellah’s life was forever changed by the revolution in Syria. Being a policeman he was initially supportive of the regime but found it increasingly difficult to carry out his duties against his consciousness. In the end he found no other way out than to desert and join the free Syrian army. During his first battle he was seriously injured and is now recovering in Istanbul.
